Why Perkin Elmer?
Walk into almost any established analytical lab in India whether it's a mid-size pharma QC unit in Hyderabad, an environmental testing facility in Delhi, or a university research department in Pune and there's a reasonable chance you'll find a PerkinElmer instrument running somewhere in that lab. That isn't accidental.
PerkinElmer has spent decades building instruments that hold up under real working conditions not just in controlled demo environments. Their gas chromatographs, GCMS systems, and HPLC platforms consistently deliver reproducible results across thousands of analytical cycles. For labs that live and die by data quality, that reliability is worth paying for.
But what happens when the budget simply doesn't stretch to a brand-new system? That's exactly the gap Spectrachrome exists to fill. We source, professionally refurbish, and supply used PerkinElmer instruments across India so your lab gets the same analytical performance at a cost that actually makes financial sense.
What We Currently Stock PerkinElmer Instruments Available Now
Refurbished PerkinElmer Clarus Gas Chromatography System
The Clarus series is arguably the most widely recognized PerkinElmer gas chromatograph in Indian pharmaceutical and industrial labs. It's built around a stable, well-engineered platform dual injector configuration, programmable oven ramping up to 450°C, and compatibility with a range of detectors including FID, TCD, ECD, and NPD.
In practice, Indian labs run the Clarus GC for residual solvent analysis (ICH Q3C), petrochemical hydrocarbon profiling, pesticide residue screening, and environmental VOC testing. The instrument has been around long enough that most experienced GC analysts in India have worked on one at some point which makes training and method transfer considerably straightforward.
Before any Clarus GC leaves our facility, the injector liner and seals are replaced, the column oven is temperature-calibrated across the full programme range, detector sensitivity is verified with a reference standard, and the carrier gas flow path is tested for leaks. You receive a written performance report documenting all of this.
Refurbished PerkinElmer GCMS System
There are situations where a GC with a standard detector just isn't enough. When your lab needs to confirm the identity of an unknown compound, detect trace-level impurities below standard detector thresholds, or produce mass spectral data for regulatory submission that's when a PerkinElmer GCMS system earns its place.
Our refurbished GCMS units are sourced from labs that have upgraded to newer platforms, meaning the instruments often have lower cycle counts than their age might suggest. Each system is serviced to PerkinElmer specifications, with quadrupole tuning, mass accuracy verification, and sensitivity testing using a standard reference compound before dispatch. These are instruments that forensic labs, CROs, and pharma R&D departments can put straight to work.
Refurbished PerkinElmer GCHS System
Headspace gas chromatography solves a specific problem: how do you analyse volatile compounds in a complex matrix say, a tablet formulation or a plastic packaging material without injecting that entire matrix into your GC column? The GCHS system handles this by extracting only the volatile headspace above the sample, leaving non-volatile interferents behind entirely.
For pharmaceutical labs running residual solvent testing per pharmacopoeia requirements, a PerkinElmer GCHS is not a nice-to-have it's the method-specified instrument. Our refurbished GCHS systems are validated for headspace equilibration accuracy, vial pressurization, and transfer line temperature performance. Column contamination from matrix carry-over is among the most common sources of GC downtime; a properly functioning headspace system eliminates that risk at source.
Refurbished PerkinElmer Series 200 HPLC System
The Series 200 is a compact, modular PerkinElmer HPLC platform that strikes a practical balance between capability and simplicity. It supports isocratic and binary gradient operation, integrates with UV, PDA, and fluorescence detectors, and handles auto-sampler-driven batch sequences without issue.
This is particularly well suited to smaller pharma QC labs, nutraceutical manufacturers, food testing units, and academic departments that need a dependable HPLC without the complexity or footprint of a larger system. Our refurbished Series 200 units are tested for pump pressure integrity, gradient accuracy, baseline noise, and auto-sampler carryover before they ship.
PerkinElmer FTIR - Raw Material ID and Incoming QC
Although not currently listed in our main inventory, PerkinElmer FTIR spectrometers are instruments we source regularly on request. The Spectrum series in particular is widely used across Indian pharma and polymer labs for raw material identification, incoming QC testing, and counterfeit detection tasks where the instrument's built-in spectral library for pharmaceuticals, excipients, and polymers makes identification fast and defensible.
If your lab needs a refurbished PerkinElmer FTIR for incoming QC or material characterisation work, contact us. We can typically source and refurbish a suitable unit within a few weeks.
What Does a Refurbished PerkinElmer Instrument Actually Cost?
It's a fair question, and the honest answer is: it depends on the model, configuration, and what accessories are included. What we can tell you is that our refurbished instruments are consistently priced 40 to 65 percent below the current new-instrument MRP for equivalent PerkinElmer systems.
To give you a sense of the savings involved a new PerkinElmer Clarus GC in India is typically quoted between ₹12 lakhs and ₹18 lakhs. A new GCMS system runs from ₹25 lakhs upward. Our refurbished equivalents, fully serviced and validated, come in well below those figures.
For labs running tight capital budgets contract testing facilities, startups, colleges, government institutions, or companies scaling capacity without a major equipment capex that difference is significant. And because every instrument ships with a performance report, you're not buying blind.

Installation, Qualification Support & After-Sales Care
Purchasing a refurbished instrument is only part of the equation. The other part is getting it running in your lab and keeping it running. Spectrachrome provides PAN India installation and commissioning for all PerkinElmer instruments, with our technical team covering Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, and surrounding areas.
For regulated pharmaceutical facilities working under Schedule M, WHO-GMP, or export market requirements, we can assist in preparing IQ and OQ documentation for installed instruments. Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) are also available for ongoing preventive servicing and priority breakdown support.
We've worked with enough Indian labs to know that the relationship doesn't end at delivery and we've built our support model around that reality.
